Scott M. Shaw
Chief Executive Officer and President
Scott M. Shaw joined us in 2001 and currently serves as our President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Shaw has served on our board of directors from 2001 to 2006 and since July 2015. Prior to taking this position, Mr. Shaw served as President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development. Prior to joining Lincoln, Mr. Shaw was a partner at Stonington Partners, Inc., where he had been since 1994. As a partner at Stonington, Mr. Shaw was responsible for identifying, evaluating and acquiring companies and then assisting in the oversight of these companies through participation on the board of directors of acquired companies. In addition, Mr. Shaw worked closely with senior management to develop long-term strategic plans, to evaluate acquisitions and new investment opportunities, to assist with refinancing, and to execute on the final sale of the company either to the public or to another company. Mr. Shaw also served as a consultant to Merrill Lynch Capital Partners Inc., a private investment firm associated with Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., from 1994 through 2000. Mr. Shaw holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business and a B.A. from Duke University. His extensive financial and business management experience provides the board a unique perspective on the issues facing companies in our industry.
Brian K. Meyers
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Brian K. Meyer joined us in 2002 and currently serves as our Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Mr. Meyers has more than 25 years of accounting and financial management experience. Prior to joining Lincoln, Mr. Meyers served as Vice President and Controller for Candie’s Inc. and began his career in 1989 with Richard A. Eisner (currently EisnerAmper LLP), a public accounting firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Wagner College.
Stephen M. Buchenot
Executive Vice President of Campus Operations
Steve Buchenot has held various field and corporate positions since he joined Lincoln in May, 1992. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Campus Operations and oversees the operations of all campuses.
Steve entered the vocational training industry in 1982. During his thirty six years of service, he has held positions including Regional Controller, Campus President and Regional Operations Manager.
Over the years, he has participated and held positions on various State Associations including the Missouri Association of Private Career Schools and the Maryland Association of Private Career Schools.
Steve is a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.
Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer
Chad Nyce joined Lincoln in March 2020 as Chief Innovation Officer. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Strayer University from 2007 to 2019 and, prior to his tenure at Strayer University, he was a Regional Vice President of Operations for InteliStaf Healthcare, Inc., one of the nation's largest privately-held healthcare staffing firms, from 2004 to 2007. Prior to his tenure at InteliStaf, Mr. Nyce served as a Vice President of the Investment Banking Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and has also held senior management positions at BostonCoach, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Investments. Mr. Nyce holds an MBA and a BBA from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Stephen E. Ace joined Lincoln in 2008 and currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer to which he was promoted in January of 2013. Previously, Mr. Ace was Vice President of Human Resources. He is responsible for HR processing and reporting activities, benefits offerings and administration, employee communications and relations, and talent acquisition and development. Before joining Lincoln, Mr. Ace held the position of VP of Human Resources with Education Management Corporation. Mr. Ace possesses over 20 years of experience in Human Resources within the proprietary, post-secondary education sector. Prior to his involvement in the Education sector, he held positions in store operations and managerial training with a major retail chain. Mr. Ace holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Grove City College.
Senior Vice President of Career Services and Industry Partnership
Susan English joined Lincoln in 1984 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Career Services and Industry Training. Prior to her current role, Ms. English began her career in Campus Admissions where she managed Adult and High School recruitment for 16 years. In 2000, she was promoted to National Director of Admissions, a role she held for 10 years before being promoted to Vice President of Career Services. In her current role, she is responsible for the professional development and subsequent employment of all Lincoln graduates as well as the development and management of training agreements with Industry partners such as Johnson Controls, Hussmann Corporations, BMW and many others. Ms. English holds a B.S Degree in Criminal Justice from the College of New Jersey
Francis S. Giglio
Senior Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Services
Francis S. Giglio joined Lincoln in 2004 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Services. Mr. Giglio has over 25 years of experience working in higher education including positions at a national accrediting agency and higher education association. He leads a staff that is responsible for providing guidance and support to the Lincoln campuses on the multitude of federal and state regulations as well as accrediting standards. Mr. Giglio possesses a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and master’s degree from American University in Washington, DC.
Alexandra M. Luster
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Alexandra M. Luster joined Lincoln in 1995 and currently serves as our Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. When she was hired as Corporate Counsel, Lincoln was privately-held. During her tenure, she has seen the evolution of the company from a family-owned business, to its sale to a private equity group, and ultimately to becoming publicly traded. In her current position, Ms. Luster oversees the Legal and Regulatory Departments. Prior to joining Lincoln, she was employed as an associate by a boutique law firm in New York City. A member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Ms. Luster received her B.A. in Communications from Fordham University and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Senior Vice President of Admissions
Jay Rasmussen currently serves as Senior Vice President of Admissions. He joined Lincoln in 2014 and served as Campus President, first at the South Plainfield, NJ campus and then at the Mahwah, NJ campus. He was promoted to Vice President of Admissions in 2016 and was subsequently elevated to his current role in 2019. In his position Mr. Rasmussen is responsible for aligning sales strategies with operations goals to ensure a robust student population. He leads and directs a team of admissions leaders who oversee 22 locations and manages over 250 admissions employees. Before joining Lincoln, he held the positions of Admissions Representative and later Director of Admissions. Mr. Rasmussen is most proud of his 12 years of active duty military service in the Army, where he served in both Desert Storm and Desert Shield as a flight engineer.
Senior Vice President of Administration and Real Estate
Tayfun Selen joined Lincoln in 2010 as Vice President of Real Estate and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Administration and Real Estate. He leads the company’s Corporate Real Estate, Security and Risk functions. Prior to joining Lincoln, Mr. Selen worked for CB Richard Ellis and held positions as Global Director of Project Management for Hertz Corporation and Head of New Store Development for Bank of America within the CBRE’s Global Corporate Services division. Mr. Selen currently holds a seat on the Montclair State University School of Business Advisory Board, New Jersey Board of Nursing, and is President of Madison Rotary Club. He previously served as the Mayor of Chatham Township and currently serves as Morris County Commissioner. Mr. Selen holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Degree from Istanbul Technical University and an MBA from Montclair State University. He achieved certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt by Rutgers University and Lockheed Martin. Mr. Selen also is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional certified by U.S. Green Building Council and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Senior Vice President of Marketing
Peter Tahinos joined Lincoln in 2013 and served as Vice President of Marketing for one year. After a one year absence, Mr. Tahinos rejoined Lincoln in 2015 as Senior Vice President of Marketing, the position he currently holds. Mr. Tahinos is responsible for aligning marketing strategies with sales and operations goals to ensure appropriate lead generation and brand positioning. He leads and directs a team of marketing professionals in those efforts which include oversight of strategic planning, digital and traditional marketing, creative development, public relations, promotional sponsorships and social media. Before joining Lincoln, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing for Direct Auto Insurance from 2008 through 2013 and, prior to that, held the same position with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service from 1999 through 2008. Mr. Tahinos holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
Valerian J. Thomas
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Valerian J. Thomas joined Lincoln in 2010 and serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for the oversight of Lincoln’s information technology services, products and new strategic initiatives both at the corporate level and at Lincoln’s many campuses nationwide. Prior to joining Lincoln, he was the Chief Information Officer of LibGo Travel. In addition to the education and travel industry, Val has held several key leadership positions in the Finance, Internet, Engineering, and Pharmaceutical industries. His experience has provided wide ranging yet deep understanding of the research, development, operational and financial aspects of large and small information technology organizations. Val holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Business Analytics from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.
