Lincoln Tech Sponsors 8th Annual Car Show to Benefit Special Olympics Howard County
Columbia, MD – Lincoln Technical Institute, a leading provider of automotive technology training, hosted the 8th Annual Car Show at the school's Columbia campus on June 19, 2004. Each year, hundreds of Maryland car enthusiasts flock to this event which showcases a wide variety of automobiles and raises funds for a worthy cause. This year, Lincoln Tech dedicated the proceeds from this event to benefit Special Olympics Howard County.

From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., attendees were invited to enjoy the dozens of cars on display free of charge. All of the vehicles were registered to compete in categories such as muscle cars, sports cars, trucks, stock cars and custom street rods. At the end of the day, winners for each category were announced and trophies were awarded to the proud owners.

Additionally, prizes were raffled off and these proceeds, along with funds generated from food and beverage sales, were donated to the Special Olympics Howard County. This organization helps thousands of individuals throughout the county with mental retardation and/or closely related developmental disabilities. Donations were also made to the Lincoln Technical Institute Emergency Fund, which provides assistance to Lincoln Tech students in need.

“This is the third year in which Lincoln Tech has opted to run its car show to benefit a worthy cause,” said Michael Trembley, Lincoln Tech's Director of Admissions. “The Special Olympics Howard County helps thousands of individuals throughout the county and holds a special significance to me as the proud foster-father of two handicapped boys.”
