Lincoln Educational Services Acquires New England Technical Institute

West Orange, NJ – Lincoln Educational Services Corporation has announced that they have signed a Definitive Asset Purchase Agreement to acquire New England Technical Institute, the first private technical school founded in the state of Connecticut. This addition brings the number of postsecondary schools which Lincoln owns and operates to 32 campuses in 15 states. The technical school marks Lincoln's sixth acquisition since Stonington Partners and Hart Capitol LLC purchased the company.

“The acquisition of New England Technical Institute is an excellent complement to Lincoln's diverse programs,” said David F. Carney, Chairman and CEO of Lincoln Educational Services Corporation. “This new addition increases our presence in the northeastern United States and comes with a strong management team led by Paul and Mark Taub. With their help, the school will integrate seamlessly into our company.”

Founded in 1940, New England Technical Institute is Connecticut's oldest private technical school. Since the Taub family purchased the school in 1988, the school has offered educational training in the Electrical, Automotive, Allied Health, Information Technology and recently Culinary Arts fields. The school includes four Connecticut campuses which serve the New Britain, Cromwell, Hamden, and Shelton markets. New England Technical Institute is Lincoln's fifth brand in the Allied Health and Information Technology arenas, joining the Cittone Institute, Career Education Institute (CEI), Lincoln Technical Institute and Southwestern College.

“Many of the programs which New England Technical Institute provides are in-line with Lincoln's current Allied Health and Electrical course offerings,” continued Carney. “However, the acquisition also brings in new programs of study in the Culinary Arts and Licensed Practical Nursing fields.”
