BMW of North America signs Lincoln Technical Institute as Official Training Partner
West Orange, NJ - BMW of North America, LLC selected Lincoln Technical Institute's Columbia, Maryland campus as the newest site for its Service Technician Education Program (STEP.) Tuition-free programs for selected graduates of post-secondary automotive trade schools, STEP was created by BMW to help keep pace with the need for highly skilled automotive service technicians.
This newest location expands to eight the number of locations for STEP training nationwide. The campus will dedicate 10,000 square feet of classroom space to accommodate the new programs, which will include the addition of a new shop, repair equipment, two hi-tech classrooms and representative BMW models. Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in April 2003.
The seven-month and 2-1/2 month programs will be open to qualifying graduates of Lincoln Technical Institute, as well as other providers of post-secondary automotive training. As many as 34 students will be enrolled in the programs each term. Dealer technician classes will also be conducted.
